Facebook, Xbox and Twitter together - Let the Evolution Begin

Another exciting announcement has been made this week at the E3 Expo. Microsoft has joined forces with the makers of the two most popular social networking sites, to bring a new dimension to the Xbox Live experience.

Facebook and Twitter have been aesthetically adapted to fit cohesively with the Xbox Live Interface. The press event at E3 showed industry experts exactly how simple the process would be, for a user to add these networking sites to their Xbox Live. It requires the user to download the application through the online functions of the Live. Once downloaded it automatically installs to fit with the custom designed interface programming in the Xbox Live console.

There would be limited functions available on both sites including status updates, photo sharing and streaming people’s profiles. The main reason for this interface is not to provide the user with another way to access basic functions; instead it has been designed to allow users to share their gaming experience with their friends list, by literally broadcasting to the sites while playing the game.

For those experts that still feel gaming is an anti-social activity, the inclusion of social networking should lay to rest and qualms they have about Generation Y’s continuous use of online and virtual systems. Both the Facebook and Twitter applications are due out “this fall” and will mark another evolution in how people connect together through the virtual realm.
